Most cruise ships reposition from their winter “Warm Water” season during the month of April. While on assignment for the Panama Canal/Central America itinerary I remained onboard until after we repositioned to the summer Alaskan itinerary. Season highlights include cruising the inside passage from Vancouver, B. C., and onward to Seward (and back again) through the end of September.
Alaska is quite chilly and damp at the beginning of the season, but, oh, the lush clean air up here is absolutely intoxicating! Normally I’m not much of a ‘nature girl’ but when call of the wild beckoned the other day in Skagway I hit those hiking trails with a vengeance!
Mud-caked and shivering, (though oddly drenched in sweat) I returned to civilization with a fantastic photo log as reward for my efforts.
